Calder Valley Flooring supplied and installed carpet in all bedrooms, stairs and landing along with Amtico Signature (Luxury Vinyl Tile) throughout the hallway and living room of this beautiful home in Stainland, Halifax. The materials used to transform this amazing home were Lano’s Smart Strand Gentle Bliss carpet n the colour Pearl and Amtico Signature wide plank in Brushed Oak.

PRODUCT

Gentle bliss is a fantastic quality product as it has SmartStrand which has a built-in lifetime stain and soil resistance property, making it a brilliant carpet for everyday life. This carpet allows the stain to be easily cleaned with pure water or common household cleaners leaving you with a beautiful long-lasting carpet. Not only does SmartStrand have the helpful stain feature, it has a soft touch feel with a lasting smooth pile as it is made from Triexta SmartStrand fibre making it an extremely durable and resilient product whilst also being an eco-friendly product as the fibre is made from organic renewable plant-based materials! This carpet comes with a 25 year wear warranty!

Amtico Signature is a high-end quality and British made product. With a huge range of styles this original LVT flooring can make every space truly unique with the endless possibilities of design. The wood style chosen for this house adds charm and warmth to the space, creating an attractive and modern finish with Signature Woods. Amtico planks and tiles are finished with bevelled edges meaning when they are fitted, they make a ‘V’ in the join, which creates a more defined and realistic finish. Amtico products are a great solution for gorgeous flooring that is easy to maintain with a high resistance wear and easy clean surface, along with a warm and soft touch underfoot.

INSTALLATION

Where carpets were fitted, Cloud 9 underlay was used as part of the preparation works. It is extremely important to use a high-quality underlay as it preserves the wear of the carpet, keeping the carpet looking newer for longer. It is very well known saying in the industry that underlay is just as important as the carpet!

This house was a new build which had a laitance concrete screed poured as part of the building works. Laitance does not stick to adhesive therefore careful preparation works were required to grind off the laitance from the sub floor surface. Once the grinding was complete, a specialised primer and screed was used to smooth the floor before laying the Amtico.

A striking striped Brockway carpets was supplied and installed through the entrance hallway, stairs and landing area to create a real wow-factor when first walking into this home. The bedrooms in this home were also fitted with new carpets, Cormar Primo Ultra in the childrens room and Cavalier Stainless Titan in the master room.

PRODUCT

For the entranceway, stairs and hallways the carpet used was the gorgeous Brockway Carpets Dimensions Heathers Stripe. This striking flooring is flecked, also known as ‘Heather’ which is made out of an 80/20 wool mix that has a fantastic wear resistance ensuring longevity for a very long time. Dimensions Heathers is practical and attractive, with its extensive stylish palette of beautifully subtle and tonal shades with distinctive semi-plain flecking. The wool rich material is manufactured in a thick twist which feels delightfully springy underfoot making it perfectly suited to the busy family home but is also suitable for heavy domestic use, that will stand the test of time.

The carpet installed in the bedrooms was from the Primo Ultra collection by Cormar’s Easy Clean Twist range. This is one of the most successful polypropylene twist carpet collections of recent years! The product is made from 100% Excellon which is a polypropylene fibre that is recognised for its fantastic stain resistance and long lasting hardwearing properties. Because of its brilliant stain protection qualities and durable properties this carpet comes with an amazing 10-year Stain & Wear Warranty.

For the Master bedroom Cavalier Stain less Titan was installed that has a luxurious 18mm pile height and made using high density two ply yarn for a discerningly soft touch. Made from 100% a super soft but high density polypropylene, paired with the two ply yarn and 3.1 tog rating this makes for a better wear, longer appearance retention and super soft touch. The extra heavy domestic rating makes the Stain-less Titan suitable for everywhere in the home which also comes with a 10 year stain and wear warranty.

Working With Ryburn Valley Furniture

It was a pleasure to work alongside our good friends at Ryburn Valley Furniture on this gorgeous home. It is always great when a customer chooses to use local businesses, especially when we get the chance at working together. We were able to give that personal touch, a stress-free experience for the customer as both businesses work together, to create the perfect vision that the customer so desires!

Calder Valley Flooring installed carpets in the living room and bedroom. Ryburn Valley Furniture created some amazing fitted furniture, not just in the bedroom but also for the en-suite.

Colour was key, the customer choose from the Westex Carpet range. Westex’s colour bank is one of the best, they have such a large array of colours you can almost compare their colours against paint cards due to the number of colours they have in each range.

PRODUCT

For the living room, the Westex Pure Luxury Troika was chosen. This carpet is the ultimate luxurious flooring made out of sumptuous 100% pure New Zealand wool. The Pure Luxury range is an understated style with effortless quality, essential long-lasting looks will last for years to come. Not only having the feel of velvet, this carpet also has added Stain Resist, anti-dust mite and mothproof treatments which means many years of good looks, resilience and durability! Troika is plush, warm and highly resilient, and a cloud like touch under the foot is created with the highest tuft density 3-fold yarn, 1/8” gauge. Troika is suitable not only for extra heavy duty residential but also extra heavy-duty contract wear.

The bedroom was installed with Westex Ultima Talisman collection. This beautiful carpet is made from 80% Wool 20% nylon which gives these carpets give a fantastic blend of performance and technical design. They are produced from fine 2 fold yarn to prevent pile reversal meaning they will bounce back giving a longer and better looking wear for the carpet, giving excellent retention, recovery and resilience. The Ultima collection offers a longer pile height for a slightly fuller feel, producing a high quality, versatile carpet which again is suitable for extra heavy duty residential and heavy duty contract wear.

INSTALLATION

Both areas were fitted with Cloud 9 Underlay Super Contact Underlay, this gives an even more luxurious feel to the carpet leaving a “wow-factor” for anyone who walks on it. Working closely with Ryburn Valley Fine Furniture, Calder Valley Flooring were able to work in conjunction with each other to ensure installation of furniture was timed right for the bedroom floor. This worked perfectly and both businesses made sure throughout the installations that a seamless process was carried out for the customer. The two doorways were then finished with aluminium trims to bring the whole room together.
